Well, the day has finally come. We never thought we’d be saying this, but we highly recommend watching tonight’s episode of American Idol auditions. Jonathan and I, along with Lettie the Food is Free Lettuce will be repping Food is Free and singing an original Mighty Mountain song, spreading a positive message over national airwaves to millions of people. It’s a wild opportunity but we really saw it as the kind of airtime that you honestly can’t even buy. Woohoo, Airtime is Free!
Jonathan and I don’t even have a TV and wouldn’t have had a clue that auditions were coming through Texas, but our keyboardist, Marino Petriccione in our band, Mighty Mountain basically kidnapped us and took us down there to have some fun.
We had no idea what we were really getting into, but we packed our ukuleles and some trail mix and headed to San Antonio, TX at the crack of dawn. Sporting our cat shirts, we sang to the crowds as folks eagerly waited for their turn to prove themselves. After making it through 4 preliminary rounds of auditions, the producers loved “The Johns” and Lettie the Food is Free Lettuce, and had us try out together for the official judges because they loved our story and message.
They had even sent us home with a flip camera to take footage of us putting in a community garden at the YMCA. By the end of it all, Ryan Seacrest, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban all had their own Food is Free shirt and loved hearing about the project. We cracked some fun jokes, had a blast and really caught them off guard.
When all is said and done, we have no idea how they will edit it together, but we had a blast and brought a wave of positivity to an otherwise quite dramatic scene.
Well, all of this has motivated and sparked us to create an awesome whiteboard video that launches today, a new website coming very soon, and our shirts will be on sale online starting tonight!
If you could take a quick minute to help us keep spreading our positive message by voting for Mighty Mountain as Best New Band in The Austin Chronicle Music Poll, we will send you a telepathic hug. It just takes a couple установка кондиционеров недорого в витебской области minutes
