Hosting Community Build Days

Building Gardens and Community

When you are ready to take the lead, we recommend hosting community build days. These events have two main functions:

• Bring members of your neighborhood together to construct your block’s garden beds and other community structures
• Inspire and empower people from other neighborhoods to start their own Food is Free projects

As we refine our technique for running these events, we will begin teaching workshops on making these events safe, fun, and effective. Information about hosting build days will also be posted here.
