Members of the McCallum High School football team stopped by Food is Free Project today raising money door-to-door, we ninja-ed them into touring the farm, eating some fresh veggies and chicken wrangling. It was a blast sharing fresh okra, tomatoes, kale and other goodies with them.
They were hesitant at first, but we peaked their interest enough to try it. I think it’s a great first step. We think it’s really important that kids and youth get a peek into urban farming. We want them to know that it can be cool to farm! We have fun in the garden and so can they. We made sure that they felt welcome back anytime. Good luck in the Taco Bowl against Anderson High next week!
