Starting the Seed Bank

The other day a small cardboard box showed up on my doorstep. I opened it up and out came an explosion of seed packets. 100 varieties of vegetables, 100 herbs and 100 flowers. The beginning of the Food is Free project seed bank.  All 300 seed packets were donated by a grant we found online. Once we start to meet our neighbors, the next step will be to start a seed saving and sharing program on our block. The art of saving seeds is very new to me, but really just makes sense.
